Pontyclun U13’s played Treharris Under 13’s on 4th November. During the game my son Edward Jones suffered a severe attack of breathlessness & an ambulance was called.
He was checked by paramedics & given the all clear – however, GP believed Ed had a heart murmur.
Yesterday @ BUPA Ed was given the all clear to re-commence training & playing.
I did speak to Pip, your U13’s team manager – to pass on my thanks to all @ Treharris, as a number of your parents helped in what was a frightening experience.
As we now know the prognosis I’d like to ensure that the Club are aware of what a superb group your Under 13’s are – a tribute to your Club.
My Father lived most of his childhood in Quakers Yard & he still says that Treharris people are the “salt of the earth”. Given our recent experience – I certainly have no argument with his 84 year opinion.
We look forward to your U`13 visit to Pontyclun on January 6th – if we can keep Edward on the field that day – we may avenge our 41 – 15 defeat. Being 13 he reminds me that it was 10 -15 to Pontyclun when he went off !
I would appreciate it if you could ensure that the relevant members of your Committee are aware of our sincere thanks.
I will also be mailing a copy of this e-mail to Nigel Way – Heart of Wales, as I firmly believe he should be aware of the diamond people he has in his District.
Kind regards
Steve Jones |
